Nicholas Miller, BS, CCEMT-P, I/C

Nicholas Miller is a decorated Critical Care Paramedic and Emergency Medical Services Instructor with over 15 years of experience in urban, suburban, and rural EMS environments. He is a nationally recognized expert in US military EMS education and has trained the elite United States Air Force Pararescuemen (PJ’s) and Independent Duty Medic Technicians (IDMT). Nicholas created and developed the first Military Medic to Paramedic Bridge Program in the United States endorsed by the United States Army. He has consulted with various US military agencies and community colleges on providing EMS education to current and former Military Medics. Nicholas was honored for his ground breaking work in military EMS education with the 2010 JEMS/Physio Control EMS 10 Award which recognized him as one of the top innovators in EMS in the United States.
Nicholas is also a recognized expert on civilian Emergency Medical Services. He currently is as an Education Coordinator for the National EMS Academy in Lafayette, Louisiana, one of the largest civilian EMS education programs in the United States. He also serves as Adjunct EMS Faculty for South Louisiana Community College. Nicholas is a contributing author for the popular Emergency Care 12th Edition EMT textbook by Brady/Pearson Publishers. As an EMS educator, Nicholas is a dynamic lecturer who receives high marks from his students. He has developed a comprehensive series of intensive, detailed EMS simulations that have significantly improved student pass rates and have reduced time spent in the clearance process. Nicholas has also provided EMS training to various EMS agencies, fire departments, hospitals, clinics, industrial first responders, and community organizations throughout the United States. He also serves as a subject matter expert for attorneys and community organizations.
Nicholas holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Wellness with a Life Science Core from the University of Minnesota and a Graduate Certificate in Fire and Emergency Services from Eastern Kentucky University. He is currently pursuing his Master of Science Degree in Safety Security and Emergency Management at Eastern Kentucky University with a concentration in Fire and Emergency Services. He resides in Lafayette, Louisiana with his wife Julie and their two Labrador Retrievers, Molly and Max.
